Prepare Basil

Wash and dry the fresh basil leaves. Packed them into a measuring cup to get 1/2 cup.

Combine Ingredients

In a blender or food processor, combine the fresh basil leaves, freshly squeezed lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, honey or maple syrup, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Blend until the mixture is smooth and the basil is well incorporated. Taste and adjust the seasonings if needed.
